The Bi Friends guide

Bisexual dating on Bi Friends: a plain guide

How to set up, say what you want, casual or serious, and stay in control, whether you’re bi, bi-curious or joining as a couple.

Who you meet

When you join, you say who you are and who you’d like to meet. You can choose any mix of men, women, couples and non-binary people, and change it later. Bi, bi-curious and straight-curious members are all welcome, and so are couples.

Pages for each starting point: bi women, bi men, couples and bi-curious.

Saying what you’re after

People come to Bi Friends for different reasons: casual dates, no-strings fun, a chat, or a relationship. The site doesn’t assume which, so say it up front. Interests include Bicurious, Chat Only, One on one fun, Couple fun, First Time Encounter, Experienced meets, Discreet Meets and Straight Curious.

The daily match suggestions use things like age range, how close people are, the kind of relationship someone wants and shared interests. Pick the ones that are true, and you spend less time explaining, and fewer people ask for something you don’t want. Advanced search filters, which come with VIP, cover city, distance, experience level and what a person is open to.

Staying in control

  • Members can’t see your real name or email, and the location shown is only your nearest town or city.
  • The Terms ask everyone to keep last names, addresses, workplaces, phone numbers and social media details off their profiles.
  • Your profile is also visible on the company’s sister sites, so share only what you’d be happy for people you know to see.
  • Block anyone instantly, and report people or content from inside the site.
  • Potentially sensitive images arrive blurred, with a warning.
  • Before you meet, talk through consent and protection. The safety page has first-date guidelines.
  • The site flags attempts to move a chat to another app, a common scam tactic.

Bi Friends doesn’t run criminal background checks, and profiles and messages may not be genuine. Use your own judgement. The safety page has the full list of what the site does.

Verification and badges

ID verification is free and optional, and puts a badge on your profile. A live video check with a moderator is the document-free option. Admin profile validation is a manual review by the team, also without sensitive documents. Because none of these is compulsory, a missing badge proves nothing, but a badge is a good sign.

Badges are also earned through activity: Verified, Chatterbox, Heartthrob and Most Popular.

Starting conversations

On Classic you get a limited number of messages each day, and you can always reply to anything a VIP or VIP+ member sends you. VIP lifts the cap, and adds members-only chat rooms and private group chats of up to 50 people. How it works has the full comparison.

Tips and reminders for safer choices, online and when meeting in person, are built into the site.
